Extra End Pieces Available

This is the loom that I've always wanted. It can either be a knitting board or a "circular" knitting loom. When knitting in the round, the 15 inch loom can be adjusted to any size from a baby sock to a hat, too big for any head (about 30 inches around). By knitting in the round, I mean making tubes of yarn that can be used for anything from a child's pullover sweater to mittens.

By sliding the end pieces back and forth I can adjust the number of pegs being used. If I want a slipper I use 26 pegs and my husband's big head takes a grand 60 pegs! By taking the end pieces out and closing the gap between the two rows of pegs, I can convert the "round" knitting loom into a knitting board. What's so great about a knitting board? For one thing, both sides of the knitting look the same, instead of one side looking good and the other side—well, it's the wrong side. But, the real fun is in the huge variety of stitches that can be done. There's the rib stitch (a favorite with socks), cable stitch and the checkered weave.  It can even be used as a corker by knitting on only two to six of the pegs.

The pegs are 1/4 inch in diameter, with a 1/4 inch spacing between them. No more pegs that are an inch apart for me. They have a groove in the side to make it easier to pull the loop of yarn over the top. There is also a cap on top of the pegs to keep the yarn from slipping off. The wood is maple for durability. There's no finish on the wood, but it's nicely sanded.

30 inch Dream Board

$70 Shipping included  within the continental USA. Go to Products Page for purchase.

It's both a knitting board and 'round' knitting loom. Adjusts to many sizes. This larger loom is just right for sweaters or other large projects. The maximum size tube it will make is about 45 inches around.

Included with the loom are instructions, a tool for pulling the yarn loops over the tops of the pegs, and a pattern for the Patriotic Hat.

Patriotic Hat

You can make a warm hat with one strand of bulky yarn or two strands of worsted weight yarn as I've done with this patriotic hat. I'll include the pattern for this hat with the purchase of the Dream Board. This pattern is for sale without the Dream Board, if you would like.

Cool Hat!

I really had fun making this tapered stocking hat.  Because the Dream Board is adjustable, you can increase or decrease the size of the tube as you knit. I started knitting the hat at the cuff and made regular decreases until I reached the tip. Then I added a tassel.

My New Friend, Buzzz

He is a bee I made on the Dream Board. His head and body are one tube, and I made a separate yellow and black striped tube for his sweater. I used the knitting board setting like a corker, to make his arms and legs, bow tie and antennae. My favorite part was making the little black stocking cap for his head.

Here is the start of a slipper using two strands of bulky yarn. The knitting is thick and warm like a blanket to keep the icy cold off my feet as I go out for the paper. My husband says they look thick enough to be potholders. Imagine that!—comparing my nice slippers to a potholder.

Different Stitches

If I want something lighter, like a baby's sock, I use a single strand. The one on the left is what the knitting looks like using a single strand of worsted weight yarn on the 'round' loom. The other two are examples of knitting on the knitting board setting. The middle picture shows a single strand of bulky yarn knitted with the rib stitch. The picture on the right shows knitting with two strands of worsted weight yarn on the top half and changing to a single strand on the bottom.
